Adventurous Post Wedding Helicopter Adventure to Berg Lake | Alyssa & Richard

Some wedding days don’t end when the reception is over. For Alyssa and Richard, the adventure continued with an unforgettable post wedding experience deep in the wilderness of the Canadian Rockies.

We started the day early, catching a helicopter flight into the breathtaking wilderness of Berg Lake. Nestled beneath the towering peak of Mount Robson, Berg Lake is easily one of the most spectacular places in the entire Rocky Mountain range.

And of course, their adventurous pup Basil came along for the journey.

An Early Morning Arrival

Arriving by helicopter in the early morning felt surreal. The mountains were quiet, the air was crisp, and the lake stretched out beneath towering glaciers and rugged peaks. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop in your tracks and simply take it all in.

Basil immediately proved she was made for adventure. She happily trotted along the trail with us, completely in her element and loving every moment of exploring such an incredible place.

Hiking to One of the Most Iconic Views in the Rockies

We hiked out to a viewpoint overlooking Berg Lake and the massive Berg Glacier spilling down from the slopes of Mount Robson. Standing there, looking out across the turquoise water toward the glacier, felt like witnessing one of nature’s greatest masterpieces.

This area truly offers a once in a lifetime view. The scale of the mountains, the power of the glacier, and the untouched wilderness surrounding it make this one of the most incredible landscapes anywhere in the Rocky Mountains.

It was the perfect setting to capture a few more moments for Alyssa and Richard after their wedding day, celebrating their marriage in a place that feels completely wild and untamed.

The Power of Emperor Falls

Our adventure didn’t stop there. We continued along the trail toward the iconic Emperor Falls.

When we arrived, the falls were absolutely roaring. The power of the water crashing down the rock face created a constant cloud of mist that soaked everything around it. Within minutes we were all completely drenched and covered in mud, but honestly, that’s all part of the adventure.

Moments like this are what make these experiences so unforgettable. It’s not always clean or easy, but that’s what makes it real.

35 Kilometers Later

By the time we finished the day, we had hiked a total of 35 km. Our feet were sore, our clothes were muddy, and we were completely exhausted.

But our hearts were full.

Adventures like this are a reminder of why I love what I do so much. Getting to document love stories in wild, remote places like Berg Lake is something I will never take for granted. It’s more than just photography. It’s about the experience, the challenge, and the incredible memories created along the way.

And sharing that adventure with couples like Alyssa and Richard and their fearless pup Basil makes it even better.
