Some wedding days are beautiful.
Others become unforgettable.
Sam and Sampson envisioned a wedding day that felt deeply personal, adventurous, and entirely their own. Rather than following tradition, they chose an experience that reflected who they are, creating a day centered on meaningful moments, breathtaking landscapes, and the people who matter most.
Their day began before sunrise in Golden, British Columbia, where we met the incredible team at Whitetooth Helicopters before taking to the skies. As the first light spilled across the mountains, the helicopter carried us to a secluded alpine location where they exchanged heartfelt personal vows with nothing but endless peaks surrounding them. There was no audience, no distractions, only the quiet of the mountains and two people promising forever.
It was one of those moments that reminds you why elopements are so incredibly special.
From the mountaintop, we made our way to the turquoise waters of Emerald Lake, where their closest friends were waiting. The ceremony was intimate, emotional, and filled with genuine joy. Every guest had travelled to celebrate not just a wedding, but an experience that reflected Sam and Sampson’s love story in the most authentic way possible.
There was laughter, tears, and the unmistakable feeling that everyone present knew they were witnessing something truly extraordinary.
But the adventure wasn’t over.
To end their celebration, we travelled along the Icefields Parkway to one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Canadian Rockies. With champagne in hand and Peyto Lake glowing below, they celebrated the beginning of their marriage exactly as they had imagined. Together. Surrounded by mountains. Completely present in the moment.
Their wedding wasn’t simply about beautiful locations, although the Canadian Rockies certainly delivered. It was about creating a day filled with intention. Every decision reflected what mattered most to them: adventure, connection, and celebrating their love in a way that felt genuine.
This is the beauty of an elopement. You aren’t limited by tradition. Your wedding day can be as adventurous or as relaxed as you dream it to be. Whether that means exchanging vows on a remote mountain summit, saying “I do” beside an alpine lake with your favourite people, or celebrating with champagne overlooking one of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, your day becomes a reflection of your story.
For Sam and Sampson, it was all of those things.
And it was absolutely perfect.
If you’re dreaming of a helicopter elopement in the Canadian Rockies, I’d love to help you create an experience that feels just as intentional, adventurous, and unforgettable.
