Waves, Vows & West Coast Magic — Kait & Kris’ Romantic Tofino Elopement

There’s something so raw and romantic about Tofino. It’s wild, untamed, and completely breathtaking. Kait and Kris chose this special place on the edge of the world to promise forever, and their day was everything an adventurous west coast elopement should be: full of love, laughter, and a little bit of saltwater chaos.

We began the day tucked away on Tonquin Beach, surrounded by old-growth forest and the soft sound of the Pacific just beyond the driftwood. With a few close friends as witnesses, Kait and Kris exchanged vows in the sand, wrapped in each other’s love and the energy of the ocean. It was intimate, emotional, and beautifully simple. Exactly what an elopement should be.

And then, in true Tofino fashion, nature joined in. The ocean surprised us with a sudden wave that swept up without warning, soaking everything in its path. Instead of scrambling away, Kait and Kris held onto each other, laughing through the spray as the water wrapped around them. It was an unexpected moment of wild beauty. Fleeting, spontaneous, and unforgettable. It was the kind of memory that could never be planned..and that’s what made it perfect.

After the ceremony, we chased the light and headed to Long Beach, where the sky hung low with coastal mist and the ocean stretched out endlessly in every direction. Kait and Kris wandered along the shoreline, hand in hand, with windblown hair and hearts full of adventure. Truly like something out of a west coast love story. And the photos? Pure magic!

Elopements like this are why I do what I do. They remind me that love doesn’t need grand stages..it just needs intention, a little wild spirit, and a place that feels like home.
